Magioni Beet Pizza Review: Trying Slice #3 and First Impressions

By now you might know that I love trying new vegan products—especially food. I’m a foodie, and I’m drawn to vibrant, colorful dishes. So when I spotted a bright pink pizza crust in my supermarket fridge, I couldn’t resist. It’s made with beets and a handful of other ingredients (all vegan—I checked, and there wasn’t even a pinch of palm oil). I couldn’t help but think of it as a warm, crisp salad. Beet pizza crust

As far as I know, this product is available in the Netherlands at Albert Heijn supermarkets, though similar beet pizza crusts may exist elsewhere. Keep reading for a simple, delicious topping idea you can use on any store-bought or homemade crust. It’s easy and tasty.

The brand is relatively new and not exclusively vegan, but I appreciate when mainstream companies offer vegan options. We vote with our purchases, so it’s encouraging to see more plant-based choices. I’ll admit I was skeptical at first—I worried the crust might be dry or crumbly.

However, my first bite was a pleasant surprise. The crust wasn’t dry: the base and edges had a nice crunch, and the pizza felt light and easy to digest. Would I buy it again? Absolutely. This crust is perfect for days when you don’t want to spend much time cooking but also don’t want to order takeout.

Of course I can’t leave you without a quick recipe. Honestly, it’s so simple it barely qualifies as a recipe, but it’s delicious and worth sharing.

Topped beet pizza

Ingredients

  • Pizza crust — I used a beet crust, but any store-bought or homemade crust will work.
  • Tomato sauce
  • Cherry tomatoes, sliced
  • Olives, sliced
  • Hot peppers (optional) — I used adjuma peppers; adjust heat to your tolerance.
  • Hummus, store-bought or homemade
  • Arugula
  • Sun-dried tomatoes
  • Hot sauce (optional)

Directions

  1. Spread tomato sauce over the pizza crust. I used about 4 tablespoons, but use as much as you like.
  2. Arrange the remaining toppings, except the arugula, over the sauce. Add dollops of hummus to mimic melted cheese.
  3. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (about 400°F) for 8–12 minutes, or until the crust is crisp and toppings are warmed through.
  4. Remove from the oven and top with fresh arugula and optional hot sauce. Serve immediately and enjoy.
